‎তবে কোনো কোনো মন্ত্রণালয় সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে নাম উল্লেখ করে জানিয়েছে, তাদের মন্ত্রণালয়ের মন্ত্রী-প্রতিমন্ত্রীরা আগামীকাল মন্ত্রণালয়ে অফিস করবেন। যেমন সমাজকল্যাণ এবং নারী ও শিশু মন্ত্রণালয়ের নতুন মন্ত্রী আবু জাফর মো. জাহিদ হোসেন এবং প্রতিমন্ত্রী ফারজানা শারমীন মন্ত্রণালয়ে অফিস করবেন। তাঁরা মন্ত্রণালয়ের কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় করবেন। মন্ত্রণালয়ের সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এসব তথ্য জানানো হয়।

ঢাকা-৮ আসনে বেসরকারিভাবে বিজয়ী হয়েছেন বিএনপির প্রার্থী মির্জা আব্বাস উদ্দিন আহমেদ। তিনি তাঁর নিকটতম প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী নাসীরুদ্দীন পাটওয়ারীকে ৫ হাজারের বেশি ভোটে হারিয়েছেন।

শরফ উদ্দিন আহমেদ চৌধুরী জানান, এই আসনের ১০৯টি কেন্দ্রের মধ্যে ১০৮টিতে সরাসরি ভোট গ্রহণ হয়। এতে বিএনপির মির্জা আব্বাস ৫৬ হাজার ৫৫২ ভোট পান। এর সঙ্গে তিনি ২ হাজার ৮১৪টি পোস্টাল ভোট পেয়েছেন। তাতে মোট ভোট পড়ে ৫৯ হাজার ৩৬৬।অন্যদিকে, ঢাকা-৮ আসনে এনসিপির মোহাম্মদ নাসির উদ্দিন পাটোয়ারী ১০৮টি কেন্দ্রে পেয়েছেন ৫১ হাজার ৫৭২ ভোট। এর সঙ্গে তিনি পোস্টাল ভোট পেয়েছেন ২ হাজার ৫৫৫টি। তাতে তাঁর পক্ষে মোট ভোট পড়ে ৫৪ হাজার ১২৭টি।অর্থাৎ বিএনপি প্রার্থী মির্জা আব্বাস ৫ হাজার ২৩৯ ভোটের ব্যবধানী জয়ী হয়েছেন।

‎এই আসনের অন্যান্য প্রার্থীর মধ্যে ইসলামী আন্দোলন বাংলাদেশের প্রার্থী কেফায়েত উল্লা হাতপাখা মার্কায় মোট ১ হাজার ৪৩৬ ভোট এবং গণঅধিকার পরিষদের প্রার্থী ট্রাক প্রতীকের মেঘনা আলম ৬০৮ ভোট পেয়েছেন.

‎ঢাকা-৮ আসনে মোট ভোটার ২ লাখ ৭৫ হাজার ৪৭৪ জন। এর মধ্যে ভোট পড়ে ১ লাখ ২০ হাজার ৪৮৪টি। বাতিল হয় ২ হাজার ৮১৭টি। বৈধ ভোট হয় ১ লাখ ১৭ হাজার ৬৬৭টি। এ আসনে পোস্টাল ভোটার ছিলেন ৮ হাজার ৯৯২ জন। এর মধ্যে ভোট পড়ে ৬ হাজার ১২টি। বাতিল হয় ৩২০টি।

‎বেসরকারি ফলাফল অনুযায়ী, আসনটির ১৫০টি ভোটকেন্দ্রে ফজলুর রহমান ধানের শীষ প্রতীকে পেয়েছেন ১ লাখ ২৯ হাজার ৯৫৪ ভোট। আর তাঁর নিকটতম প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী দাঁড়িপাল্লা প্রতীকের প্রার্থী রোকন রেজা পেয়েছেন ৫৭ হাজার ৩২৬ ভোট।

‎ইটনা উপজেলায় ফজলুর রহমান পেয়েছেন ৫৪ হাজার ২৮৯ ভোট আর রোকন রেজা পেয়েছেন ২০ হাজার ৯৩৯ ভোট। মিঠামইনে ফজলুর রহমান পেয়েছেন ২৬ হাজার ৭৫৬ ভোট আর রোকন রেজা পেয়েছেন ২২ হাজার ৪৫১ ভোট। অষ্টগ্রামে ফজলুর রহমান পেয়েছেন ৪৮ হাজার ৯০৯ ভোট আর রোকন রেজা পেয়েছেন ১৩ হাজার ৯৩৬ ভোট। তিন উপজেলায় ফজলুর রহমান প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী রোকন রেজার চেয়ে ৭২ হাজার ৬২৮ ভোট বেশি পেয়ে বিজয়ী হয়েছেন।এ বিষয়ে ফজলুর রহমান বলেন, ‘আমি আমার আসনের মানুষের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞ। আমার শেষ বয়সে এলাকার মানুষ আমাকে যে সম্মান দেখিয়েছে, তা আমি রক্ষা করতে চেষ্টা করব।’
